Worker Caps -
The Watch Cap ( a navy term) is a working hat associated with blue collar laborers, mechanics, and especially stevedores who needed to keep their hair back, but for whom a visor was an unnecessary obstruction. Ours is an 8 panel skullcap with a flipped up brim that forms a band around the bottom of the cap. In its traditional form it was made of the same navy wool flannel as a pea coat. We offer some variations very popular in the 1940ís with college fraternities which incorporate two or more different colors. The extreme coloring of this style was in the propeller beanie.
An eight panel 12 ounce wool flannel cap with a folded-up brim, large button and leather sweat band. The perfect winter head protector, it crushes into the palm of your hand or a pocket.
