Solid Color Caps -
Tartan is a pattern consisting of horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colors, originating in Central Europe, but associated with Scotland and known in the U.S. as plaid. Until the 19th century, tartans were associated with highland regions, rather than clans. The designs were produced by local weavers using the natural dyes of that area. Although plaid fabric is generally a winter wear, we offer ours in various weights enumerated in the product description box. Estimates say that there are 3,500 to 7,000 different tartans and 150 new ones created every year.
All are round, soft-crown, wool plaid. Inside, is a hair canvas front backing and leather sweat band. The 3” visor is the modern length and has a dark green wool under-visor.
