Armed Forces Caps -
Soldiers have always played baseball. Whether at service academies or in pickup games with hand made caps, or in World War 2 where many drafted Major League players and regular GIís formed teams like the Eighth Army Chicks, Manila Dodgers, CBS Clowns, Air Transport Wolves, Detachment of Patients and Hornsey Red Sox, myriad teams and leagues were formed for pleasure and morale. Our collection below contains some of the better known and more arcane of the caps they wore.
As the caps below are from different eras, the construction varies slightly. Generally, they are round, soft-crowns, 12 oz. wool flannel, with a hair canvas backing and leather sweat band. Visors have a dark green under-visor. Particulars are in the product description.
