EIGHTY-SECOND AIRBORNE 1946
When it was discovered in 1917 that the 82nd, contained draftees from all forty-eight US states, it was nicknamed The All American division. That is the basis for its famed AA patch. Alvin C. York, General Dave Bald Eagle (grandson of Chief White Bull), and Senator Strom Thurmond all served.
