THIRD ARMY 1944
In 1944, as the Allies prepared to invade of Normandy, the Third Army was relieved of training missions which it had done on and off since WW1. That summer, George S. Patton led the Third Army in eight major campaigns in across Europe making it America's premier fighting Army. In the few off hours, the all black cap designed by Paton himself graced makeshift baseball fields with tanks as the centerfield wall.
