SUN SPOT AMATEUR TEAM 1940
The Sun Spot Company of Baltimore fielded many amateur teams both at it’s home factory and across the country at it’s bottling plants. The cap herein is from a team in El Paso, TX in 1940. This date was significant as a time of change in the Carbonated Beverage business. Applied colored labels had just been invented and propelled the industry forward in a burst of color. The snappy logo on this cap reflects the breakthrough. Ironically the founder of Sun Spot, in later years, went on to invent a liquid used in diagnosing diabetes. All Navy Wool Cap, 3” Firm Visor, Black White on Red Felt Appliqué Logo.
