Ball Caps of the 20th Century - Old Leagues - PHOENIX FIREBIRDS 1988

The Firebird or Phoenix is an ancient regenerating bird. Some medieval images of which (they didn't have logo then) are at the corners here. Some said that the bird had peacock-like coloring. Others said its eyes were like sapphires, but Herodotus seems to have got it right as red and yellow because anyone can plainly see it's on “Matt the Bat” Williams' 1988 PCL cap, ICC’s cap for October. Although the team was mediocre that year,”The “Big Marine” had himself a four homer game on his way to a career in which he is the only player to hit at least one World Series home run for three different major league teams; and13 years after his final game he still ranks in the top 75 for career homers and the top 150 for RBI's. Yikes, the big fellah had 4 Gold Gloves too. His stint with the Firebirds and Diamondbacks appears to have stuck as he still lives in Paradise Valley with the former TV hostess of the Hopeless Housewife. All Navy Cap, Embroidered Logo.
